Development, implementation and follow-up of the maintenance rule in Almaraz NPP

In compliance with the legislation generated in the USA and as called for by the Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear, the owners of Spanish nuclear power plants have created coordination and follow-up groups in order to implement the Maintenance Rule in Spain. Abiding by this regulatory legislation and applying it even further, Almaraz NPP has undertaken this implementation in parallel with the activities of the Spanish power plants designated as pilot plants, generating its own approach in terms of organisation, methodology and scope. A work team is created, represented by a Panel of Experts, as required by the legislation, to coordinate and direct the work to be carried out by Engineering and Licensing, Operation and Maintenance Groups. The different phases of the implementation are developed through four work areas: Application of the methodology. Historical analysis and data follow-up.
