Vacuum ultraviolet transmission spectroscopic system using a laser-produced plasma

  • 1. Miyazaki Univ., Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Photon Science Center, Miyazaki (Japan)

Description

We have developed a vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) spectroscopic system using VUV continua emitting from laser-produced rare gas plasmas. By using this emission source, we have measured VUV transmission spectra of Nd3+:LaF3 crystal. The crystal has a transmission peak at 172 nm and the absorption coefficient is measured to be 1.4 cm-1 at this wavelength. (author)
