Beam shaping in a RF thermionic gun of the centimeter range

Description
The results of developing the thermoemission high-frequency electron gun with the output electron energy of 350-470 keV and the beam pulse current of 50 mA are presented. The working frequency constitutes 12.5 GHz. The developed HF-gun makes it possible to obtain the beams of sufficiently high quality by comparatively low (100 kW) power of the HF-supply. The studied HF-gun may be applied as a separate electrons source and as the accelerator initial part on the standing wave. The manufacturing technological approaches and methodology for the gun elements tuning are developed

Представлены результаты разработки термоэмиссионной высокочастотной электронной пушки с энергией электронов на выходе 350-470 кэВ и импульсным током пучка 50 мА. Рабочая частота составляет 12.5 ГГц. Разработанная ВЧ-пушка позволяет получать пучки достаточно высокого качества при сравнительно малой (100 кВт) мощности СВЧ-питания. Исследованная ВЧ-пушка может быть использована как в качестве отдельного источника электронов, так и в качестве начальной части ускорителя на стоячей волне.
