U-Pb geochronology of belomorids from the region of Tupaya Guba of Kovdozero lake (Northern Karelia)

Description
The first results of isotope-geochronological study of Archean Belomorje in the region of granulitic facies rock development are presented. According to the U-Pb- and Pb-Pb methods, heterogeneity and various ages of zircons from metadiorites (granulites) and granitoids are established. The are of the main stage of metamorphism (amphibolitic-granulitic facies) of the Belomorje complex in the region studied is 2.65 billion years; the age of earlier granulites according to geological and petrological data may be more ancient than 2.8 billion years
