Description
For the investigation of magnetic structures, neutron scattering is the established standard method. Much experience and experimental know-how encourage approaching complex problems as well. On the other hand, since the beginning of the nineties the magnetic X-ray scattering methods (MXS) have been applied as complementary tools to the magnetic neutron scattering (MNS). We present the application of different aspects of magnetic X-ray scattering on RCu2 compounds as an example of its complementary nature to neutron scattering in the investigation of magnetism and discuss particular details of the magnetic X-ray scattering.
