Hypophyseal-thyroid interrelation in those who took part in elimination of Chernobyl accident aftereffects and in a limited group of residents of a district of Rovno Region contaminated with radionuclides

  • 1. Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Rentgeno-Radiologicheskij i Onkologicheskij Inst., Kiev (Ukraine)

Description

The authors report the results of thyroid gland radio immune study in 60 patients, of them, 28 residents of Rovno Region and 32 those who took part in elimination of Chernobyl accident aftereffects (liquidators). In 77.5% of the latter we revealed defects of thyroid hormones synthesis at clinical auto thyroid state. The values of hypophyseal-thyroid interrelations do not depend on cesium 137 incorporation. The patients with increased level of thyroid hormones and decreased level of thyroid-stimulating hormones should be included into the <> and require annual radio immune and ultrasound study of the thyroid gland
