On the role of autoionizing and autodetaching states in the excitation of metastable levels in the autoionizing energy region: helium
- 1. Ukrainaian Academy of Sciences, Uzhgorod (Ukraine). Inst. of Electron Physics
Description
New data on the electron-impact excitation of metastable He(23.1S) states in the 57-61 eV energy region are presented. Experimental differential cross sections for metastable formation were measured with high energy (∼0.08 eV) and angular (∼0.1o) resolution by means of a metastable spectroscopy technique. The resonance-like structure observed is classified as related both to autoionizing and autodetaching states using the density functional theory method. (Author)
