Description
A simplified method to calculate the stresses in straight pipes due to laminar flow of a stratified medium with two different temperatures is presented. It is based on the equilibrium equations and conservative assumptions as usual in practice. Numerical results are obtained for the 'banana' and 'pera' modes of deformation due to thermal stratification; the former case appears to be most important. In order to be able to perform such a fatigue damage analysis in practice under several complex load conditions, an existing program for fatigue damage analysis was provided with more substantial details. All the assumptions crucial for the use of ASME code were retained. The inclusion of stresses due to stratifications in the fatigue damage analysis is completed through extension of ASME NB 3650. Para se avaliar a necessidade ou nao de se fazer tal tipo de analise, um metodo simplificado para calcular as tensoes e o fator de uso da analise de fadiga foi desenvolvido. Ele se baseia nas equacoes de equilibrio e hipoteses conservativas usuais na pratica. Resultados numericos sao obtidos para o efeito 'banana' e o efeito 'pera'. O primeiro efeito e o mais importante. Para se fazer a analise de fadiga, as tensoes calculadas usando-se o metodo anterior sao adicionadas as equacoes do codigo ASME (NB 3650, EQ. 10, 11, 12). Um programa usual de analise de fadiga em tubulacoes nucleares foi modificado para se prever esse efeito, sem contudo se alterar as hipoteses e limitacoes previstas na pratica.
