Resonant Inelastic X-ray Scattering study of H2S molecules around the sulfur K absorption edge

Description
Resonant Inelastic X-ray Scattering (RIXS) measurements were performed on H2S molecules with excitation energy tuned around the 1s ionization threshold of sulfur. A Johansson type crystal spectrometer was employed to record a series of resonant Kα (1s→2p transition) and Kβ (1s→3p transition) x-ray spectra in the 2469-2489 eV excitation energy range building a full 2D scattering plane. Ultrafast nuclear dynamics have been observed in the RIXS H2S spectra measured after excitation along the dissociative resonance around 2472 eV.
