Lesions induced in baboons by a N-gamma global irradiation (N/gamma = 5,5)

Description

In baboons exposed to a N-gamma global irradiation (N/gamma = 5,5) at a dose of 6 Gy, it has been observed: - alterations of hemostasia parameters, - hemorrhagic lesions, such as submucous hematoma, visceral petechiae and tissular necrosis of colon which becomes a critical organ, - cutaneous lesions limited to the front face and lesions of extremities evoking a LYELL syndrom

Abstract (French)

Chez des babouins exposes a une irradiation neutron-gamma globale (N/gamma = 5,5) a la dose de 6 Gy, on a observe: des alterations des parametres de l'hemostase; des lesions hemorragiques tels que hematomes sous muqueuse, petechies viscerales, necroses tissulaires du colon qui devient un organe critique; des lesions cutanees limitees et des lesions des extremites qui cliniquement peuvent evoquer un syndrome de LYELL
