Data processing for the monitoring of radio-particulates of airborne radioactive substances of the nuclear reactors

Description
The nuclear facilities including the nuclear reactors will produce the airborne radioactive substances consisting of radio-particulates (P), radio-iodine(I) and radio-gases(G), normally called PIG. The PIGs are not only the radioactive sources for the workplaces of nuclear reactors, but also may be appear in the releases of stacks or ducts of the nuclear facilities. Thus an important aspect for Radiation Protection should be monitoring of the PIGs for the workplaces, stacks and ducts of the installations where operations with radioactive materials are conducted. The monitoring of PIGs for the stacks effluents of the nuclear reactors should be continuous, accumulative sampling and measuring procedures. In this paper, after the monitoring methods of PIGs are induced simply, the considerations of the data processing, or, the result expressions relating to the monitoring of radio-particulates are discussed. The correct methods of the data processing should be the basis for appropriate operating of the PIGs monitoring systems, and be the guide to assure the quality of the monitoring results for the PIGs.
