Self-consistent approach in the theory of diode

Description
Consideration is being given to the problem of formation of relativistic electron flux in diode at random parameters of emission cathode characteristics. Effective cathode conductivity, depending in a nonlinear way on electric field strength on cathode, was introduced as a physical parameter, dictating cathode emission ability and electric field distribution in diode. It is showwn, that real emission cathode charateristics can affect sufficiently current-voltage characteristics of diode and electric field distribution in it, This effect is as stronger as applied voltage is lower. the equation, enabling to conduct self-consistent hydrodynamic calculation of diode current using the assigned model of emitter conductivity was derived
