Computerized videodensitometry of renovascular angiograms

  • 1. Hyogo Coll. of Medicine (Japan)

Description

An apparatus for observing renovascular angiograms with time by videodensitometry was manufactured for trial. This method was applied to renovascular angiograms from 42 subjects including normal subjects and patients with renal diseases such as cancer of renal cells, tumor of the renal pelvis, cystic disease of the kidney, and hydronephrosis. Renovascular angiograms selected for this study were only those which were photographed under good angiographic conditions, had little overlap of the renal shadow and intestinal gas, and which were obtained from patients with characteristic diseases. From the results of observation of a kidney as a whole, patterns characteristic of these renal diseases were obtained. From these facts it is considered that an establishment of areas concerned and a complete removal of interference shadow such as intestinal gas can induce precise results. (Ichikawa, K.)
