Research in the area of Ataxia-Telangiectasia (A-T) has made considerable progress in the last several years, providing a good understanding of both the disease and the underlying problem of maintaining genomic integrity. Many scientific and medical institutions in India have focused on these research areas with most investigators utilizing genetic and molecular biology tools for diagnostic purposes. Moreover, many medical professionals are also actively engaged in clinical practices as well as research in the area of Ataxia and related neurological disorders.
