Description
The outstanding importance of level measurement for pressurizers in PWR power plants regarding a safe and reliable operation as well as a safe accident control is the basis for demanding advanced level measurement methods all over the world. The paper presents a micro-computerised device for determining the density-independent level and diagnosing the measurement system by means of the differential manometer being integrated in the design of PWR power plants. Beyond that the system is suitable for computerised data acquisition in case of first-time operation experiments. Hardware test results as well as the algorithms used at a pressurizer test stand are given, which allows to realize all kinds of transients experienced at the original pressurizer. (author)
