Photons in the transversity system

Description
It is shown that by a suitable interpretation of the two spin polarization states, a photon formally can be considered as a transversely polarized spin-1/2 particle, thus greatly simplifying the polarization analysis of reactions involving photons, since such an analysis is best performed in a pure transversity frame. An example, γ+0 → 1+0 is worked out in detail to illustrate the method. copyright 1989 Academic Press, Inc
