A low frequency electrostatic instability in an electron beam plasma system
- 1. Ehime University, Faculty of Science, Department of Physics, Matsuyama, Ehime (Japan)
Description
A low frequency instability (Ωi<ω<Ωe) observed in an electron-beam-plasma system has been investigated. This instability is caused by unneutralized space charge from the perpendicularly propagating ion-acoustic wave. The dynamic stabilization of this instability by a high frequency (∼ωpe) electron wave is also investigated. (author)
