Description
ITER-India, the Indian domestic agency for ITER has the responsibility to supply 2 high power Gyrotron RF Sources (1MW, 170GHz, 3600sec) for Electron Cyclotron Heating and Current Drive (EC H and CD) system on ITER. One of the challenging areas of these high power Gyrotron systems is the system integration and-integrated system performance. To facilitate the integrated system testing of Mega Watt class Gyrotron RF sources, ITER-India is developing a Gyrotron Test Facility (IIGTF). Single Test Gyrotron operation scenario is considered, which requires 2700 LPM of water at inlet pressure of 6 Bar through 22 cooling circuits to extract 2 to 2.5 MW of thermal load in the system. CAD Modelling of cooling system is done to present the realistic situation in optimized manner, further Stress Analysis through CAESAR II is carried out for the piping layout at the designed pressure and operating temperature for stress qualification and operability. This paper presents system overview, requirements, and design concept with analysis results in detail
