Toroidal plasma rotation in JET

Description
A database has been constructed which contains data on toroidal plasma rotation, collected from nearly 200 JET pulses where near 'steady-state' (ie., the beams had been on for at least 0.6 seconds and dω/dt∼0) rotation conditions exist. Neutral Beam Injection (NBI) heated discharges without ICRH heating or strong MHD modes exhibit a rotation velocity which strongly correlates with the ion temperature, indicating that the mechanism for NBI heating is also responsible for rotation and that ion thermal energy and momentum losses are also quite similar.
