The calculation of point source sensitivity factors for NaI(T1) contamination monitors

Description

The calculation of sensitivity factors (s1.MBq-1) for a point source of any radionuclide lying on the central axis perpendicular to the face of a right angle cylindrical NaI(T1) crystal is described. Tabulated sensitivity factors are given for several radionuclides used in nuclear medicine and a widely available contamination monitor (Type 5-44 probe: Mini Instruments Limited). (author)
