Description
A new principal and method to realize non-distractive and real-time electron bunch length measurement are proposed and investigated. A surface plasmonic field, associated with a coulomb field from the electron bunch, is resonated outside the accelerator vacuum system through metamaterial media. The resonated plasmonic field is measured with the electro-optic (EO) sampling technique at a distance in order to avoid radiation damages for the detection system. (author)
