Influence of heat treatments on magnetic properties of Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets

  • 1. Instituto de Pesquisas Tecnologicas, Sao Paulo, SP (Brazil). Div. de Metalurgia

Description

Anisotropic magnets of NdFeB were produced by powder metallurgy techniques, using magnetic field pressing followed by vaccum sintering at 10800C. We studied the influence of heat treatments on the magnetic properties. Two sequences were used: a) annealing treatment only b) a pre-anneal at 9000C followed by an anneal. Six annealing temperatures between 500 and 7500C were used. In addition to the magnetic properties, values of the density and microhardnes are presented. We show also the effect of pulsed magnetic fields and small cracks on the sample magnetization. (author)

Abstract (Portuguese)

(autor)
