Bogolubov's spontaneous-symmetry-breaking mechanism and Higgs phenomenon

Description

The dynamics of spontaneous symmetry breaking of the four-fermion theory with (V-A)-interaction is investigated. In the mean-field approximation the four-fermion (V-A)-theory is shown to have all the features of the Abelian model with spontaneous symmetry breaking. In this model the coupling constants turn out to be the known functions of two parameters: the Yukawa coupling constant and the vacuum expectation value of the Higgs field
