Fast extraction modulators for the Los Alamos proton storage ring
- 1. Los Alamos National Lab., P.O. Box 1663, Los Alamos, NM
Description
Modulators are described that provide 50-ns wide, bipolar 42-kv pulses, repetitive at 720 pps in a 50-Ω environment. Pulse generation is by thyratron-switched, pulsed-charged, dual ferrite-isolated blumleins. These modulators drive strip-line kicker magnets for the extraction of circulating proton bunches in the Los Alamos proton storage ring
