Description

GRTgaz is a European leader in natural gas transmission, a world expert in gas transmission networks and systems, and an operator firmly committed to the energy transition. It owns and operates the gas transmission network throughout most of France and it manages the transmission network in Germany, thereby helping to ensure correct operation of the French and European gas market. It contributes to the energy security of regional supply systems and performs a public service mission to ensure the continuity of consumer supply. This document presents some key figures about GRTgaz activity in 2010: 515.1 TWh in gross consumption: DP: 337.1 TWh, Industrial customers: 178 TWh (of which 25.5 TWh for energy production). 488.5 TWh in corrected consumption: DP: 310.5 TWh. Consumption supported by cold winter months. Significant recovery in consumption from industrial customers: Driven by electricity production, refining and the agri-food industry. Excluding electricity production, return to 2008 level, before the crisis
