Description
The search at the Tevatron collider of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs or cosmions) corresponding to a class of models proposed by Gelmini, Hall and Lin to solve the solar neutrino problem is considered. These models predict the existence of a scalar coloured triplet with a mass around 100 GeV, giving rise to jet events with large missing transverse momentum at hadron colliders. We find that the expected signal is well above the standard model background, so that Fermilab experiments are able to support or neatly rule out these models. (orig.)
