High current density approach for a fusion device
Description
A line of experimental devices is described which has the goal of reaching deuterium-tritium thermonuclear ignition conditions by exploiting the properties of magnetically confined plasmas with relatively high particle and current densities. The line includes the Alcator series at MIT and the Frascati Torus in Italy. (author)
