Energy localization using anisotropic metamaterials

  • 1. Center for Computational Electromagnetics and the State Key Laboratory of Millimeter Waves, Department of Radio Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing 210096 (China)

Description

We investigate the possibility of energy localization using a line current source and a slab of anisotropic metamaterial. The source can be placed anywhere before the slab and there is no restrain on the slab thickness. The localization conditions have been presented, showing that the material parameters are closely connected with the slab thickness and the distance between the source and slab. The principles for the localization effect have been discussed in details. The lossy effect on the energy localization has also been investigated through numerical simulations
