Photochemical oxidation of americium by persulfate in solutions of saturated heteropolytungstates
Description
Quantitative preparation of Am(4) in solutions containing heteropolytungstate anions (HPTA) is carried out by photochemical method. More than 2-fold excess of HPTA is required to quantitative preparation of Am(4) in 0,1 mol/l HClO4 solutions containing Na2S2O8 and unsaturated by HPTA under ultraviolet radiation. Am(4) stability in the series of studied HPTA is determined. Main regularities of Am(4) formation in 0.01-0.1 mole/l HClO4 in the presence of PW11O397- anion are studied. Quantum yield of Am(3) photooxidation to Am(4) in 0.01 mol/l HClO4 equals 0.10±0.02. (author)
