Detection of polarised radio emission of M31

  • 1. Max-Planck-Institut fuer Radioastronomie, Bonn (Germany, F.R.)

Description

Polarised emission of more than 20% at lambda11 cm has been detected in several places in the southern part of M31. Faraday rotation effects in our Galaxy and in M31 appear to be small; it is suggested that the magnetic field is aligned along the arm. (orig.) 891 WL

Abstract (German)

(orig.)
