The controlled nuclear fusion is one of the great hopes of mankind to solve the problem of the growing energy demand with an environmentally acceptable energy use. The paper describes the developmental path to the economically working fusion reactor, whereby it deals with the current physical problems and the concerned existing and planned experimental plants, respectively. Die kontrollierte Kernfusion gehoert zu den grossen Hoffnungen der Menschheit, das Problem des wachsenden Energiebedarfs wie einer umweltschonenden Energienutzung zu loesen. Den Weg dorthin, zum oekonomisch arbeitenden Fusionsreaktor, beschreibt der Aufsatz, wobei auf die aktuellen physikalischen Probleme eingegangen wird und die hierzu bereits bestehenden bzw. geplanten Experimentieranlagen.
