  • 1. Industrias Nucleares do Brasil SA, Pocos de Caldas, MG (Brazil)

Description

This paper presents the Brazilian uranium reserves and the great potential yet to explored. It also shows the relevance of using systematization methodology for uranium and strategic minerals prospect ion and research. The assured uranium reserves warrant's the country demand of energy supply. Therefore is suggested the research and technology development, aiming to the optimization and viabilization of new projects taking in a account that is needed normally to work with a time interval of ten years ahead of demand. It is also pointed out, that according with energy projection studies, in less than two decades, nuclear energy would became the second largest source of world generation capacity of electric energy.
