Design of unsealed radioactive sources laboratories and requirements connected with them

The information on legal aspects connected with designing of unsealed radioactive sources laboratories has been presented. The Polish regulations governing site circumstances, building parameters and equipment required has been described in detail for different classes of laboratories designated to work with radioisotopes of specified radiotoxicity and radioactivity. The licensing procedure has been also presented from also view point of the Polish Atomic Law and other regulations. An exemplary project for a laboratory utilizing unsealed radioisotope sources of the third class has been included as an appendix. 3 figs, 4 tabs
