Description
One of the phenomena involved in the assessment of the radioactive source term to the environment during a severe nuclear reactor accident is the retention of aerosols and fission product vapours in water pools during their passage from the core to the containment. The development of the BUSCA (BUbble SCrubbing Algorithm) code, which models these phenomena, is undergoing further development within the European Pool Scrubbing Group. Up to date, it has been validated against the ACE (Advanced Containment Experiments) Phase A experiments. (author)
