Location of the lower hybrid heating absorption zone in toroidal devices
Description
The location of the transformation of the incident electromagnetic wave into an electrostatic plasma wave near the lower hybrid resonance can be determined by using the ''warm'' plasma theory. This region corresponds roughly to the linear absorption region or to the source of non linear waves, since there the electric field is maximum. A numerical determination of this region is made for two toroidal devices: the WEGA stellarator and the JET Tokamak
