Modeling of human factor reliability in nuclear power
Description
The role is pointed out of reliability engineering in estimating and increasing human factor reliability and in quantifying reliability and improving safety of nuclear power plants. Factors are discussed affecting human performance and variability. Ergonomic problems are outlined of nuclear power plant operation and the methods are listed of identifying and evaluating error potential in the man-machine system. Sensitivity analysis is shown as a purposeful method of modeling human factor reliability in view of the uncertainty associated with most data on human performance. The knowledge of the human factor transfer function and of factors affecting human performance represents the basis for attaining higher reliability of nuclear power plants. (B.S.). 2 refs
