Effect of grid to cathode spacing on the sensitivity and efficiency of single wire anode gridded streamer counter and on the range of alpha-particles
Description
Investigation was made on the effect of grid to cathode spacing (hg) on the sensitivity of the single wire anode gridded streamer counter when a collimated beam of alpha particles was shifted parallel to the plane of the cathode in the direction from cathode to the grid passing with the anode, and also when moved perpendicular to the anode wire and parallel to the cathode. Also its effect on the range of alpha-particles in air was investigated
