Description

Purpose: Infection of pacemaker device or implantable defibrillators are rare (<5%) but serious and sometimes difficult, we evaluated the interest of PET / CT with 18F-F.D.G. in the diagnosis. conclusion: PET can be useful to diagnose infection on pacemaker and implantable defibrillators. A prolonged antibiotic therapy may cause false negatives. In our series, the management could have been altered by the examination in 6 out of 21. (N.C.)
