Estimation of thermal conductivity of AL-U3Si2 fuel plates for research reactors

Description
Thermal conductivity of Al-36 vol% U3Si2 fuel meat in Al/Al-36 vol% U3Si2/Al plate fuel was calculated from ambient to 450 deg. C from the estimation of thermal diffusivity by laser flash method, specific heat from literature and density. Thermal conductivity varied from 0.35 W/cm.K to 0.47 W/cm.K in this temperature range.
