The development of solar thermal energy in Ile-de-France - Situation and potential. Summary of the 2012 study
Description
ARENE Ile-de-France and ADEME commissioned a study to provide an inventory of existing solar thermal installations in the Ile-de-France region. They wanted a tool that would enable them to update the data annually, analyze the real potential for thermal production in the region, and understand the obstacles and levers faced by target players (social landlords, property developers, local authorities). Finally, they obtain an overview of solar thermal supply and players in the Paris Region. At the end of 2009, there were 1,655 installations of solar water heaters and solar heating systems, covering 43,145 m2. The solar thermal potential is around 22 times greater than what exists today. Political will, on the part of social landlords and property developers, is decisive in activating this transition. In all cases, there is a market, manufacturers and distribution networks
