Description

The cryo-engineering facilities of the extended and upgraded 1.8 K He II - cooling circuit of the Karlsruhe superconducting proton-linac and the experience obtained in assembly and operation of the large cryostat are described. The modifications include; increases of length from 2 to 8m, reduction of mechanical vibrations, completion of beam line with its vacuum system. (UK)
