Description
A summary of analytical capabilities of the production of X-ray radiation by charged particle bombardment is presented. Experimental results on cross-sections obtained during systematic measurements of many nuclei are tabulated. Intensities of X-rays emitted during bombardment by charged particles of thin and thick targets are discussed in the scope of analytical applications. This method allows a local analysis and can be characterized by a high sensitivity for elemental analysis from aluminium to uranium. (author)
