  • 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Primary Isotopes Section

Description

The details of the elution studies of strontium-90 from polyantimonic acid with different eluting agents and the recovery of silver nitrate from strontium eluate are described in this paper. A number of eluting agents have been tried under varying conditions of concentration and temperature and the best eluting agent appears to be 1M AgNO3 + 8M KNO3 at 750C. Elution profiles are also presented and the method of recovery of a major percentage of silver nitrate for re-use is also described. (author)
