Methods in radiochemistry
Description
In this academic publication, the author proposes an overview of methods used in radiochemistry. He presents and discusses notions of chemical purity and radiochemical purity, of period, of radiation, and of un-weightable quantities. Then, he addresses the sharing of micro-component between two phases and the application to separations: co-precipitation reactions, electrochemistry of extremely diluted solutions of radio-elements (spontaneous deposition, electrolysis, radiochemical radio-polarography), extraction by solvents, chromatography on ion exchanging resins, chromatography on paper, vaporisation, separation by recoil, chemical kinetics at the scale of indicators, chemistry at the atom scale, ultra-microchemistry. Another part addresses physical-chemical effects of radiations: physical effects (modification of electrical and mechanical properties of solids, luminescence and coloration produced by radiations, thermal effects), and chemical effects
