Description

Techniques of coulomb-metering titration of molybdenum(6) using electrically generated titanium(3) and tin(2), with spectrophotometric indication of titration end point, have been developed. Molybdenum(6) titration by electrically generated titanium(3) was conducted against the background of 8M H2SO4, 0.5M with respect to titanium(4) sulphate, by electrically generated Sn(2) - against the background of 6M HCl, 0.12 M with respect to tin(4) chloride, and for 0.1 M with respect to NH4SCN. Both titrants can be used to determine >=1μg/ml Mo(6), and for smaller molybdenum(6) quantities it is preferable to use electrically generated tin(2) in the presence of rhodanide ions. The lower limit of determined molybdenum(6) content is, in this case, 0.3 μg/ml
