Zero-charge and vacuum instability in gauge theory with spontaneous symmetry breaking
Description
In gauge theory with the spontaneous symmetry breaking SU(2)→U(1) zero-charge behavior of the effective coupling constant is observed in the neighborhood of the threshold of vacuum instability in an external field, for H→H0 with H0 = M2/e. Several aspects are discussed of the phase transitions that are possible in nonabelian gauge theories with spontaneous symmetry breaking in the presence of a magnetic field
