Method of etching of lithium tantalate crystals

Description
A new method of lithium tantalate crystal etching is developed. To obtain contrast figures of etching with control of the crystal monodomain nature degree, oxalic acid is used as organic acid and the treatment is realized at 85-95 deg C for 13-17 min. The invention can be used when studying real structure of lithium tantalate (LT) crystals. The method suggested makes it possible to establish the degree of crystal monodomain nature rapidly and accurately and, thus, to select fit crystals and to make corrections in the technique of their growing
