Description
A procedure for the prediction of the in-core detector reaction rate in three dimension using the nodal code, KINS, is established and benchmarked on the first and second cycles of Kori-1 reactor. Full core calculations with depletion are performed and the calculated results are compared with the operating data at burnup steps 8000 MWD/MTU of cycle 1 and 810 MWD/MTU of cycle 2, respectively. The comparison shows that the present calculation agrees well with the actual in-core sensor readings. It is, therefore, concluded that the procedure developed in this work is an effective tool for the three dimensional simulation of movable in-core detector behavior or PWR's. (author)
