Elastic waves in a transversely isotropic bar immersed in a fluid

Creators

Description

Propagation of axisymmetric and flexural modes in a transversely isotropic cylinder immersed in a fluid is studied. Dispersion and attenuation curves for cobalt as well as a magnesium cylinder is plotted. At immersed magnesium rod exhibits mode-switching. For a certain range of frequencies it also acts as a filter for the flexural modes. (author)
