Study of kidney compensatory hypertrophy in rabbit by using radioactive mercury bichloride
Description
In this research thesis in physical-chemical biology, the author reports the study of kidney compensatory hypertrophy in rabbit by using the measurement (by external counting) of the percentage of mercury fixed at the kidney level after an intravenous injection of radioactive mercury bichloride. After a description of the experimental protocol and of the applied method, the author reports results obtained on a normal rabbit and on a nephrectomized one. Results are then discussed in terms of interpretation of hyper-fixation as it is noticed during the development of compensatory hypertrophy.
